I get how frustrating it can be, and I agree - honesty and transparency are important for both parties. That said, 3-4 days isn't that long, TBH. You can always follow up if you're in a time crunch, but there is a process and it usually takes more than a day or two. Try to hang in there.
We've been having discussions about this in our team too. To be fair, we have the best of intentions when we give timeframes but we do rely on other team members who take their sweet time, to say the least. Will bring this up next time though
Yes, I can only echo what the others said before me. We always try our best to get back to the candidate whether it’s a yes or a no, but sadly we depend on other people’s decision and many times we’re stuck waiting for feedback from them. What I usually do is I drop a message to the candidate that we’re still waiting for an update and I let them know as soon as we can. I also suggest being transparent with your recruiter and make sure to let her/him know that you’re in other processes and you’re receiving other offers. We can then pass this message to the hiring manager to kind of light the fire under his ass :) If they want you they will hurry up to make a decision and get an offer out quick.
Agreed with this , I think it’s just frustrating when they don’t respond UNTIL they get feedback. So you’re stuck thinking am I just not being considered or have they not for feedback or are just not interested in dealing with me anymore. Also they keep setting unrealistic expectations and saying we will get back to you within a day or two.
