HR screen interview, HR rep gave salary range of $85K- $135K & refused my next round interview w/ hiring mgr until I named specific range in which I stated $115k- $135k. HR rep then stated during screen I agreed to $115k although I said I needed to complete interviews w/hiring mgr to determine my number. All interviews finished/never discussed salary again, anticipating offer at 115k. Do I have a strong case to counter 130k if that’s the market rate & many yrs experience in this position?

I would make the case basis the range you communicated, using what you have learnt about the role and the relevant experience you already possess that will help you bring more value to the table. Ask them what will it take to get you a target of $130K base. I would suggest starting this over an email, suggest you’re open to a conversation and remember to always close the email with something like “you don’t want compensation stand in the way of a great opportunity”. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

Hi, I'm an artist with 5 years of experience in the game developmentindustry.

After interview sessions, it comes to salary negotiation. To my surprise, the salary offer is below industry average, even more like junior-level salary.

Though my experience includes team leadership and I have described in detail how I could contribute to the company, the interviewer raised the offer, adding $300 only, still in junior salary range.

What does it really mean, and how do I win the negotiation?
