HR Specialist here! I am very focused in employee relations working directly under our Director, Employee Relations. I’m highly focused on Organizational changes and am in and out of our HRIS system on the daily.

Recently I’ve been interested in getting my foot in the door with HRIS but don’t know where to start. I’ve looked at certificates/classes and don’t know what I’m doing or which direction to go into. I have my bachelors in Business Administration and HR. Any tips??

One as senior technical project manager, one as senior product manager. Somehow I'm more attracted by the company that offered me the project management position, but the other company, offering a role in senior product management, pays way more. Looking to transition from an electrical engineer (wide range of experience in low and medium voltage systems) to FPGA or embedded system engineer. While I really do enjoy the design aspect of power systems, I've always leaned more towards the software side of EE and I like working closely with hardware. I’m sure it’ll vary depending on the specific terms of the agreement and ethos of the fund, but generally / anecdotally what would cost you to lose a VESTED carry? E.g. what if you leave to a competitor even when respecting the gardening leave / non poaching etc? What if you are let go for underperformance (but haven’t breached any rules / done anything unethical etc). Or what if you’re let go simply due to eg the fund reducing headcount or your team?

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

What would you do if you found out an executive was speaking poorly about you and your work performance to other employees? Is this a case where you would get HR involved? Have a conversation with the individual? Let it go? The comments are confirmed to have happened at an event that the offended party was planning/running, and the exec said negative comments to two other people at the company about the event and their work, and also said the person looked “too stressed.”

They also responded to their managers email saying they’re not in a place to take on this role now. But they also said that a family meme et will be needing assistance for 4-6 mo and they don’t want to hold back the business so they’re okay with whatever we decide. It’s been 10 days. Would you consider this job abandonment?
