HR told I cleared the interview and asked for my current paystubs. I refused to provide citing confidentiality. Since then, never heard back. What's happening? Did they dump me? No offer letter yet

Very likely. How long has it been? Did you overstate your current salary?

I think it’s over, OP... 1 month is the latest I would wait. Keep your head up, and move forward. Sometimes things happen for a reason.

is it even legal to ask pay slips?

Not sure about legality, but they can request it if they’re offering you a competitive salary based on your current salary since so many tend to overstate their current salary.

Are you sure they didn’t just want to verify your employment without alerting your current employer?

That’s why they ask for the paystub vs calling your current employer. Most background checks verify the last 5-10 years of employment. If this was the case, they would have been fine with you redacting the salary/tax info

You’re better off

HR asked me for payslips. I asked why and they claimed it was to send to the legal team for my visa. They did confirm it was ok for me to redact the comp info before I shared the info. So the fact they aren’t answering you back is really odd.

They asked for pay stubs before making an offer or this was this background verification?

Currently interviewing for a designer role at Tesla - wanted some advice. The hiring manager has seemed uninterested and always dropped off interviews early and without answering any of my questions. He also mentioned that he's lost 4 designers from the team recently (red flag!). I think it'd be a cool role, but it sounds like I'd be the only designer and there's not a ton of support, BUT if I do well - lots of room for growth and promotion. Plus internal transfers after a year also an option?

Received an offer from a smaller consulting firm helping build out a new practice with the same work I am doing now. It is a $20k pay raise however I do really enjoy who I work with and really have no reason to leave besides money. I’m afraid to switch and not like it and be miserable but it is an offer that’s very hard to say no too and everyone I interviewed with was great and came from other big 4’s. I’m still very early on in my career.. two years out of college. Any thoughts and opinions?

Applying to industry after 2 yrs in a data-heavy strategy consulting role, and running into an odd problem: people are automatically putting me into a "heavy-quant" box and becoming apprehensive of my fit for a business role (strategy, FP&A, etc). 2 Qs: 1. Does this sound plausible, or am I overthinking based on a small sample? 2. How would you highlight your fit/interest in moderately quantitative roles? Consultants generally like my "Context> result> personal contribution" format of bullets

The downside of this service is they charge a commission based on the salary for the job they place you in. Thoughts or advice?
