Solid statement. Turns out that the most concerning part of the story, cutting food and medicine, was totally mischaracterized.

Sounds about right. What’s more concerning is the many people of FB who have commented that if McK provided questionable recommendations, it would be okay because: 1) everyone does it 2) I want to work at McK because it pays well and has a good reputation even if it did in fact act unethically

I like this statement! I can’t, however, get past that in 2018 Sneader said we didn’t work on implementing immigration policies and in 2019 it is revealed we picked holding camp vendors.

Haha, c'mon, we've all done procurement work. More often than not when you're looking to rebid/restructure contracts reduction in service levels/quality is one of the many levers pulled. I've never seen a procurement project that had a goal of reducing cost end up with better service levels, always worse, albeit perhaps not proportionally worse with the reduction in cost. Truth is any consulting firm on that contract would have done the same, but don't BS a BSer.

I'm not confused. You're continuing to lose credibility here. I buy that's the goal, and what you claim, in reality it's almost always worse service at a lower cost, albeit the cost reduction is greater than the proportion reduction in service. Clients almost always come to consultants for help with procurement to reduce cost as a primary goal. Just call it what it is, like I said any other consulting firm would have done the same. You guys are getting flack because you're the most notorious name in the industry. Continuing to follow the line of "we did good" just makes you look less credible. There's always a story/spin: Purdue, South Africa, Saudi, etc...

The nytimes publishes a negative hit article about “secretive” McKinsey at least once a month. If that’s not an agenda I’m not sure what is. Maybe it’s time to go from being defensive and posting a rebuttal every month, to calling out that garbage publication, documenting their string of fake news on mckinsey and investigating what’s behind that.
