The Wailea Beach Resort in Maui is a lovely newly renovated Marriott property

like

Maui endorsement. Go up Mt Haleakala.

Do Kauai and Maui. Stay at St Regis in princevile, rent a car and drive through waimea canyon, do a helicopter tour of napali coast. Spend other half of week in Maui. Stay at wailea beach resort (mentioned above it's gorgeous!) Do road to Hana if interested, even if you do half the road it's a spectacular drive with doable mini hikes.

Princeville Resort isn’t a St Regis anymore

likehelpful

St Regis is not part of Marriott/SPG anymore, but it's a really nice property.

Yep!! Still an amazing property as Princeville hotel!

Kauai and big island will give you a feel of the oldest and newest island!!
The autograph collection in Kauai is amazing! Enjoy!

Agree with the Kauai/Maui suggestion but I would actually stay on the west side of Maui — Westin Ka’anapali or Ritz Kapalua. More interesting things there vs. the south side.

like

My opinion - you should just stay in one island and enjoy the fullest rather than rushing two islands.

I went to Kauai for 10 days and split it between using some Marriott points at the Sheraton (could get more nights for point value) and stayed at Waipouli Beach Resort (Airbnb but was worth it because saved money cooking some nights). The beach resort was around $210 a night, fully furnished condo with kitchen, empty beach and nice pool. Location isn't as great as some of the other towns but it was convenient enough to drive to all areas on the island. We chose to stay on 1 island because didn't want to lose a day packing/traveling, if we could have gone full 2 weeks definitely would have also gone to Maui.

Maui is gorgeous! Rent a convertible and drive the road to Hana, hike at Io valley and enjoy all the beaches.

Definitely looking to do resorts and not air bnbs based on what we heard from other folks. I would love to know for folks who have been, how much did you spend per night for stay? I’m trying to look for Marriott properties so I can use/ make some points. I honestly don’t have a lot :)

Thanks guys, this is good stuff. What’s the average amount I should look to spend per night on stay you think?

Maui. Wailea Marriott. Tell them it’s your anniversary too - lots of extra perks!

Big Island and Kauai - total contrasts. Enjoy.

My only point of reference is Stowe, where I stayed at a friend's place two years ago.

I know the drive is long but want to make sure we don’t miss out on Grand tetons. Options are to fly into SLC or Jackson, WY depending on which parks we decide.
