So I’m about to start my interview process for Capital One next week for a Senior Financial Analyst position. My recruiter going give me a prep call on Friday but I wanted any advice that recruiters don’t tell you during the interview process. Also I wanted to ask if Capital One a decent place to work at. I will be working at the one in McLean Virginia if that helps.
Outdoor time is her favorite ❤️

I mean besides California, you really just have Oregon and Washington. Depending what you like. Seattle and Portland are all very good cities, but not sure how they are now with Covid.
The west coast has 3 states and you ruled out one of them. The other two are basically the same as each other. What exactly are you asking us to recommend?
Yea bro don’t hate in California like that
No no I’d love to visit California but just not right now.
If you’re into outdoor activities, the PNW would be perfect for you. Otherwise you’d have to go to California. You definitely won’t get a big city vibe from either Seattle or Portland.
No please don’t come to CA. We’re trying to get our covid numbers down over here and people keep visiting from other states. Go visit the PNW.
Why not Cali? There is more to California than LA and SF
Rising Star
Lol you do realize there are only 3 states on the west coast - why didn’t you just ask if you should go to Washington or Oregon?
😂 wait you’re definitely right! I was half asleep when I asked that this morning!
Central Oregon (Bend/Sunriver) are nice and have great food and plenty of outdoor activities.
San Juan islands in WA are also fun.
Haha we were typing the same reco at the same time 🤗
Central Oregon is so nice in the summer! Bend, Sunriver, Sisters... It’s high desert, the mountains are right there, and a great jumping off point for outdoor activities if you’re into kayaking, rafting, etc. It’s super laid back and pretty hipster (I mean, it’s the PNW) with a great beer scene and so many breweries (the Bend Ale Trail!). I love it out there.
With that said, as with most places, they don’t want travelers bringing in COVID! Bend has a restriction on short term stays in hotels and rental properties in place through Labor Day.
We're still rioting in Portland, but we are still a large state geographically speaking. I would recommend NorCal and Southern Oregon coast. Lower population, redwoods, coast, great outdoors and lot of space. Pic of Brookings, OR attached from this June.
Bellingham, Washington. Beautiful small city at the foot of Mount Baker and only a 45-minute drive to Vancouver, BC.
If looking for chill: Fly to Portland and drive south to Williamette Valley. Low key area, relaxing, wineries, good restaurants. My favorite patch of Pacific driving is Oregon. (Worst is Washington from Portland north.) 4 days would be about right.
An interesting side trip is Mt St Helen's. I've been three times, twice in the late 90s and the devastation was incredible. It looked like the volcano had blasted a year or two earlier (it blew in 1980.) The last time was about 5 years ago and the transformation was remarkable - lush, verdant park.
Why not Cali? It’s plenty more than just LA/SF if you wanna avoid those areas
Wait, I don’t know what I was thinking; I was half asleep when I asked this morning because our anniversary is next month and we initially weren’t going to do anything but I woke up wanting to travel this morning.
I said no California because I know they’re battling Covid right now so I didn’t want to visit at the moment. So I guess the updated question is where in Washington or Oregon would be good for a couple’s vacation? I know Seattle and Portland are the main places but if anyone’s been to any of the smaller towns that have a nice vibe We’re open to those as well.
Utah
Lots of COVID there right now. I would not go...
I’d rather go to anywhere in CA vs Portland or Seattle right now.
