Can you please suggest the roles one can get in Microsoft if they are coming from a management consulting background?
My skills are mostly in market research and have very good proficiency in Excel/powerpoint while being a very beginner of python/R.

McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hey everyone -
Not the exact right bowl, but looking for advice/referrals for a close family friend trying to break into ESG/climate change/sustainability consulting.
They have ~7 YOE in finance (mostly junk debt, some S&T) and 20 YOE in development banking at an IGO (think World Bank, doing everything from public debt offerings, infrastructure, etc. all w heavy ESG/compliance requirements).
Thanks for the help!

been fully remote for over 6 years and won’t be going back
Pro
Fully remote. I acknowledge it’s completely selfish, but I feel no need to socialize or network with anyone at work anymore, despite being fully aware of the benefits. I can be 100% effective at home in the actual “work” part of work. And that’s fine with me.
Everytime I’m in office, I get a fraction of the amount of work done, which then carries over into personal time after work.
I’m 100% with you on this one. My company is making us come in once a week for “collaboration” (I’m an analyst)
Pro
Hybrid but let people decide what’s best. Not this you can come in 3 or 4 days a week ‘hybrid’ bs
Hybrid but I decide when I come in. I like wfh but some days I can tell it won’t be a productive wfh day and on those days I go to the office. I’m an independent contributor so I don’t have to talk to anyone but the change of scenery helps with productivity.
Hybrid. I have rather enjoyed the office to an extent. Probably helps I have a small, tight knit team
Remote. I mean, even if you're fully remote is someone going to say you can't go to the office sometimes if you wanted to? Might as well not set the expectation of being in the office up front so you can have flexibility
Pro
Hybrid but mostly remote. I like having the office option and enjoy seeing my coworkers in person, but there's definitely less time to focus and get work done.
Mostly remote, I may show up once in a while but definitely don’t want a regular schedule going back in.
