EY verbal offer rescinded:( Has this happened to anyone else? “We have had a change in our demand for our product team and we are having to reassess our hiring. I am placing your name on our list to follow up with once we have a better grasp on the next month or two’s availability and needs, this normally doesn’t happen once we get rolling in a hiring process however Q1 had had some changes this fiscal year”

Need help from Amazon 🐠 Anyone interviewed for Amazon L5 BIE in GSF supply chain team? The JD said basic qualifications include data modeling, ETL, data warehousing and optimization. Any idea or experience how they will test these topics? Asking about related experience? Or show some data and ask how you will deal with that? Or like a case study, given a senario and ask how you think in order to tackle problem? Need advice/idea/experience urgently. Thanks in advance.Amazon @BIE

I’ve thought about this. Basically I’d be screwed. Lol
Of course if that actually happened, I think careers would be the least of our worries, considering the global food and fuel shortages. Almost all of our tools today are electronic in some fashion.

New careers would come out of the push to rebuild and redesign said infrastructure, we wouldn't necessarily be thrust back to the bronze age, tech is here to stay.

Building a car from nothing is a far different under taking than putting together a road legal car made from donors and parts at a local pick-n-pull. Even if this theoretical EMP rendered everything unusable, the technology and knowledge base won't disappear.
I read a novel about this scenario that shared a pretty messed up world, so I do think about this periodically. Hadn’t thought about the career part, but it did make me glad no one in our family is diabetic. That is a very good question. Probably woodworking.

See, new careers opening up in this thread even, who would have thought that cannibal rapist hunter would become a thing.
Death
Realistically, probably just die as others said. What I would try to do though is become a butcher. Procure animals, process and preserve them sans refrigeration, trade the meat for other things. That’s about all I am good at doing with my hands without electronics. Or I could actually use my engineering degree and try to help rebuild, but that just doesn’t feel too terribly appealing.
Electrical Engineer/carpenter
Man I think about this more than I should and I still don't have an answer. I'd like to think I won't die though. Maybe create some kind of co-op where all of us forage for food together and help build infrastructure again? Gotta think about this some more
I’m pretty sure I’d be murdered and eaten shortly after the event.
