Hypothetical question- if you won the lotto during busy season and it was enough money that you would never have to work again, would it be a scene from Half Baked or would you leave cordially?

You are all going about this the wrong way, you don’t want people to know that you won the lottery otherwise you will have family members coming out of the woodwork asking for money and people trying to murder you to steal your money. You should continue to work secure in the fact that you can say no to things that you don’t want to do like working past 5 or working weekends. Then, look for a different job that is lower stress less hours and maybe lower pay and slowly transition to that without drawing any attention.

I thought about just sitting there watching Netflix until they fired me. Honestly I’d just disappear

I’d call from the lottery claims office first thing on Monday morning. I would have already cleaned out my office on Sunday night.

Agree with PwC1. Hide it, ease slowly into a simple life with a p/t job that’s just for fun not money but can be an excuse to ppl for how I pay my bills. I have a lot of relatives that would try to take advantage otherwise. The ones who deserve help I can give it anonymously via trust and lawyer or something.

Some of my clients are friends now. I’d give my two weeks if only to make sure they were properly transitioned

I would show up in a top hat and cain and spend the day deciding what to do with my money. Probably drink a nice whyskey and then leave for good at lunch. In all honesty i would be paranoid about medical insurance so probably would keep it secret for a bit but would not work so hard for sure.

like

I would collect the money and once I see it in my bank account i would go to the computer guy in the office, drop my computer on his desk, fire off an email to hr to say I'm resigning effective immediately then just walk out. No reason given so they won't know why I quit.

It would definitely be like in Half Baked, except I'd actually have a big fat joint to smoke at that moment.

If you take the winnings anonymously, you take home less. Strong consideration

Hi Sharks, I had an interview with Tata Consultancy today and cleared the TAG round by answering all their questions. So here my query is, based on my performance will they offer me a hike of 100% or more from my CCTC, because this role is too relevant to my domain and technical knowledge so that I don't wanna miss out on this.

CCTC - 6LPA
YOE - 5

Parents want to send their children back to school not only for educational purposes but also for social interactions. I do understand that many children want that interaction with their friends and teachers. But I don't think it is going to be quite as rewarding as many think with social distancing and face coverings to be safe. No high fives, pats on the back, sharing earbuds to listen to a new song, or consoling an upset friend. Even facial expressions are lost. Tough times.

Anyone here who knows or went through the Veterans CDP, when did you receive your official start date in writing or get contacted by HR? Thanks in advance!

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

I am an incoming associate (awaiting bar results). I have already begun working as a law clerk and am already being given plenty of tasks to fill my time, which I’m grateful for. I am also fortunate to be in working in an area of the law that is personally fulfilling to me, so a lot of the work I do doesn’t feel like work. Here’s the thing: I do my absolute best. I give polished, clean work, and I always give my personal best. However, it seems like a lot of the tasks I do always get sent back..
