Hypothetical: you've been at your firm <1yr. Things are going well but you're not eligible for a promotion this year. Should you accept an offer from another firm for more money or stay?

Depends on the firm. Big 3 move. Else stay. Everything else is equal or less than Accenture. Not other thing to consider is type of work

Yeah I faced this predicament...unless it's big 3, stay. Better to stay 2-3 years and jump to a promotion...not just a lateral jump for a little more money

Been at agency 3 yrs. Was just informed I won’t be receiving a raise because I’m at the top of the “pay band.” First I’ve ever heard of a policy like this, here or anywhere. Is this a “thing” or BS?

Was staffed on a project where I have almost zero experience or understanding of the work. A lot of accounting and FP&A processes which I have no background in. It’s only my 2nd project so part of me believes you have to deal with it. Obviously I’m curious if I should say something, raise it with a mentor or gut it out until the end. Thoughts?

Bay area accounting professionals, DM me for a pwc referral. We are the very first accounting firm that announced the fully remote/virtual working option and our offices here have the best culture. We also have an accelerated promotion timeline now that if you are a good performer you will get promoted to manager in 2 or 2.5 years (from senior). Happy to answer any questions you may have and we will split the referral bonus.

How much are first year managers in FDD (Deal Advisory) now making - looking to get an idea of how much I can expect this promotion cycle (Boston : HCOL ).

Let’s keep this to those who got promoted from senior associates to manager rather than hired in as a manager.

I just got promoted. I also just got a job offer. A job offer at an agency I’ve dreamed at working at for years. No real growth in the promotion, just a fancy title but I’ve only been here a year. 😣

Your colleague keeps busting your chops because he/she has a terrible sense of humor and doesn’t understand the inside joke. I got frustrated and tried to correct, but oh no no… I should’ve raise my voice even a little or I’m crossing the line.

In CDP now, but thinking about what to specialize in after promotion. Payer or Provider practice as a career move. Thanks!
