Feeling like my marriage post-baby is in ruins. Feel like I’m doing everything for baby and running the household solo during leave while hubby is back at work. Even worse is when he travels for work
What are your thoughts on making a company sign an NDA when asking you to do a case study for an interview? Really feel like these interview case studies are unfair towards applicants who spend time cracking their heads on original ideas that might be stolen, without a job offer.
Gender reveal parties are a dumb recent invention - call both sets of your parents and leave the rest of us out of it. Literally none of your friends care.
I'm really good at my job, a high performer and have visibility with partners. However, I hate it. I wake up in the mornings feeling angry and resentful. I'm not able to exercise creativity as I'd like to, and feel I'd be happier in a completely different field. I'm scared to leave behind the reputation I've built. Big 4, it's safe/comfortable/addictive and Im addicted to being on cruise control. Anyone else been through the same?
Do you think it’s overkill to send a sample of my work product (wiped of client info) to my interviewer? I interviewed last Friday and sent a thank you. It’s been 10 days, they’re still interviewing..
Any MBB consultants out there who totally bombed a case in post-MBA interview? I’m practicing for my round one next week and just feel terrible about the cases. It’s been years since my last.
Sent 60+ applications over quarantine. Rejected by Spotify 5x, Uber 4x. Out of 60 I got 1 interview, and 7 rounds later have a job I love with really nice and smart people. You only need one and I urge everyone struggling here to keep going and finish the fight!
A little embarrassed not to know the answer to this question I’m about to ask regarding candidates and current salary... can a recruiter in MA ask a candidate in Arkansas (for example) where they do not have a ban” on salary history questions- ask that candidate their current comp? I never ask current comp - no matter where the candidate is located - always approach the question as desired comp range-but a situation has come up where it MIGHT be helpful to have if the candidate feels comfortable
I am a contractor with a consulting firm, I applied for a permanent position but HR gave me a different designation than requested, called me and said I should be happy I’m not contractor anymore. Told them I reject the offer , I want what I want else I’ll remain a contractor. Did I do the right thing ? I am tired of being pushed around and treated like crap just because I am a POC and a contractor
Any Asian men growing out your quarantine hair? I’m curious if it’ll be okay to keep long hair once we’re in office. I feel like it’s a double standard that’s going to be allowed for our white colleagues but any Asian guy with long hair is a “weirdo”
Told a partner I am pregnant and was asked what I'm going to do after the baby....ummm work? Am I already fired?
A reminder to all: we are going through very difficult times. Please help someone who has gotten laid off if you can!
Have an intro call with the head of product at a company I’m interested in. They’re hiring like crazy, but I just made a move out of consulting (4 months ago). Want to just keep my options open (cont)
Greetings everyone. Praise God for another day! Hosting a virtual bible study on Tues. 09/29 at 8pm EST. Great time for fellowship and studying the word. Please send me a message if you would like to join! It is open for all and it’s a great community especially in this time of quarantine. Hope you’re able to make it!
I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!
