What is a promotional offer? Is it like buy one job get one free?

likefunny

Exactly. And I had a coupon too

Not sure if all 50 states or not, but pretty sure it's also illegal for a new employer to directly ask about current compensation. And I think you'll be fine and new employer will not alter anything.

like

Not all 50 states, unfortunately. NY, CA, and several more.

Did you lie when asked previously your current salary?

like

They shouldnt modify an offer if it was already given. If they are comfortable with your salary expectation and prior job responsibilities, then let it ride.

like

No cause you have the leverage, if it’s on par with what other similar competitors you should be fine. Check Glassdoor

like

What industry? If tax, corporate or partnership?

No employer would ever disclose your salary. Its odd they have it.

It can come up in a credit report.

I’m curious on the ‘promotional offer’. How does that work? Lol

Did you give your two weeks notice before background check was done or after?

Before

That’s soooo odd

Interesting

Is a promotional offer where they offer you two salaries for one job?

Y’all are very naive. You should know that companies like Equifax are selling your salary details.

Anyone have insight into revenue accounting? I’m interviewing for a sr revenue accountant position and wondering if it’ll be too pigeonholed. I also have zero background in this type of accounting so it would be completely new to me, but the hiring manager didn’t seem to mind that I don’t have any experience in this area. I’m fed up with the hours and lack of support in public and want to leave before next busy season for context.

Hi, I have a 1st round interview coming up for an associate position at L.E.K. Consulting and was wondering if anyone could give some insight into the interview? I believe it will be 2 cases, 30 min strategy and 30 min quant. Have been doing some case prep over past few months, but nothing too in depth or LEK specific. Kind of nervous - never done a case interview and feel a little underprepared

Asking for advice please. I’m making 57k as a Finance Coordinator (2 yrs). My work is a hybrid role: 1) Exec assistant for a C-Level exec, 2) Financial Analyst. I cannot become Analyst now due to an on-going visa application that is going to take about 1-1.5 years. I am very grateful that my company is willing to help me with my visa (around 10k) this year. But I am thinking about asking for 70-75k since living cost in LA is pretty high and sometimes my bank account can be negative. What to do?

I have 2 offers: 1. PwC US for the Manager position. 2. Infosys for the Senior consultant position. Both offered same base salary (around 150,000 USD) PwC has huge signing bonus. Have to join Infosys as H1 transfer is already done and I already resigned from TCS by the time PwC offer was finalized. Once PwC H1 transfer is done then should I leave Infosys within 2-3 months after joining or should I continue with Infosys and decline PwC offer?

Hello! I'm trying to get a grasp of a good base salary and TC for the Chicago area. I'm a UX contractor being converted to full time and I received an offer for 100k base + 10% bonus. For context this is like a 30% increase from my salary as a contractor and the company isn't a tech company. I have about 2 years of general industry experience (web dev, web design, agency work) and 1 year of actual product design and finishing up a master's in HCI as well.. Is this reasonable?

Receiving any negative/constructive feedback scares the sh*t out of me. I had a toxic previous job experience with a manager who used any small thing as a means to scare me out of employment. Now at my new place of employment, if I do get a constructive comment or something to work on, a lot of anxious thoughts run through my mind until I can somehow calm down and go back to working somewhat productively again - but I always have that fear of being fired over it. 😔
