This is unfortunately not the surprising, background checks are either immediate or SUPER SLOW. This has been my experience at every firm. Also, depending on the arrest/underlying reason, compliance might have to review on top of HR/background checking company.
This for sure, I bet it's with Compliance if OP is FINRA
Morgan Stanley has so much red tape it’s ridiculous how long the hiring process is usually over 2 months and if the have to do background checks in your case I wouldn’t worry for a few weeks as ms is slow slow slow in hiring
Very long hiring and onboarding process. I applied in March or April, got an offer in June and was given a July or August start date. I chose August.
Cisive took 6 weeks to onboard me back in October 2020
jeez :(
It takes about 2 weeks after you provide documentation for Finra pre clearance/compliance
I can support the claim that the process takes forever. I applied sept 2020, interviewed Oct. didn’t hear back until February…I honestly forgotten I had applied …and I got arrested during that time frame. My arrest is sent disclosable but it’s always best to err on the side of caution. They did not care about my arrest, just asked that I provide a detailed statement about it. Offer was made in Feb 2021. My start date got delayed twice and I didn’t start until June 2021. Don’t stress about it (easier said than done)
