I have a weird experience with KPMG India . Two weeks ago I had salary negotiation with the HR manager. He told me that the offer will be released in a couple of days but I haven't received the offer letter yet.I tried reaching out to the HR manager but didn't receive any response. Shall I take it as no?
PwC India Folks, heard from someone that AC Kolkata will publish hike letters next week. Please vidate this info.
Also, if i resign now/next week and my last working date is after July 31st, i can still get my hike and bonus, correct? This is written in the employee handbook and my offer letter. I would appreciate if someone who has greater insights to reconfirm this.

We had a member of our team leave and then 5 days in he called asking for his job back. He started with us again on Monday. He was gone for 2 weeks total. Do what’s best for you.

OP you already know what to do, you just have nerves about it. You have to do what’s right for yourself because companies certainly do what’s right for themselves (at our expense oftentimes).

Did you know this before accepting the position?

Yeah it’s sketchy AF if they withheld that detail…
This 100% would of been discussed before accepting as either is remote or have to be onsite/in their state. If it wasn’t, you need to have a talk with them today and figure out how they just sprung this on you and how negotiated salary was based on where you live and need relocation assistance and a bump, if you indeed are willing to move. I wouldn’t want to work for a place they would be sneaky like this
true, I should of thought of that perspective
You shouldn’t relocate and upend your entire life unless you are truly excited about it and WANT to do that for the job.

In the era of remote work I’d literally never relocate for a job.

You must have known everything except the ‘hate the job’ part already. Relocation timeframe, cost of living, salary, relocation assistance - were already incorporated in your decision. Sounds more like a buyer’s remorse.
That said, move on if you truly ‘hate’ the work.

Start looking asap for another job. If there is so much heartache and the company is taki by a hard stance right from the get go, there is a slim to nine chance things will get better. Leave while you can

I don’t think this would burn bridges. Just be honest and respectful that this job is not a fit for you and that your personal situation has changed that you can’t relocate.
ask for more time remote because you want to be sure it is a good fit. if they say no, do what's best for you
Well if you quit now, you could avoid putting it on resume at all…
