My dog got like this for a while. We used trainer to work on this amongst other things. But basically it comes down to forcing the dog out and building her confidence back up.
Thanks! Will definitely work with our trainer on this.
Did you previously always go when it’s light out for walks? With the time change (I’m also NYC) I realize my dog doesn’t really like the dark.
I assume nothing happened on any walks that she’s scared of?
Yeah maybe just ask the walker to cover bases! Otherwise might just be a phase. She’s still a baby at 1 year after all! Good luck :)

How much does she weight ? How old is she ?
Thank you! I’ll try without the sweater.
2 months is still very new. Just keep at it. She will get used to it. Don’t relent if she is nervous, she needs exposure.
I had a similar phase with my dog.
One of the things that helped was associating the best treats with the walks and avoid giving "nice" treats at home- they really do start making an association over some time. Our girl is now up for a walk whenever I take then leash in my hand :)
All the Best!
The general rule for walking puppies is 5 mins per month in age, so you should be setting a goal of 10 mins to build up her confidence. I’d also use treats to encourage her often. Dogs, like Humans, are creatures of habit so you have to be patient until she picks it back up.
