I think it’s the typical ADD “waiting mode” curse of you know something is coming up so your brain is stuck waiting. I get that way before zoom meetings and doctor’s appointments too. Even if the appointment isn’t until 3 pm, my entire day is derailed by waiting mode
I didn't know this was a common thing. That explains why I front load the scary stuff in the mornings - even though that's when I get my best drafting done.
i thought i was alone, i am struggling so badly with focus this week :( i'm trying so hard to be better and to get myself into gear but something is in the water

Get to bed earlier. Implement a strict “no tech” blackout rule at a set time in the evening. Wake up earlier. Enjoy the quiet before your day starts. Get a SAD light and use it for an hour or two at work.
It helps.
Good tips, but I'd suggest a HAPPY light instead
The holidays hit every ADHD stress points differently. I get overwhelmed by almost everything. Cooking, remembering to buy presents, chasing deadlines, and the list goes on. Even made myself a calendar of events and task to keep track of everything. But I still have to break down bigger task into smaller chunks to help me manage them better. I've got everything, well most, under control.
I have no tips. Just glad to hear it’s a thing! I have been beating myself up for the past week because I have felt so lazy and checked out.
I am actually struggling today. My brain is everywhere. I am on overload. I am packing for vacation, I have to take my kids to ortho appts, to tryouts, and to work. I have a board meeting tonight. I am hosting 12 people for Thanksgiving and we leave that night for our drive down from PA to FL for our cruise. I am so stressed and can't focus, even my one son said mommo as he calls me "you need to relax" LOL, so my ADHD is not agreeing with me right now and yes around the holidays i am always overwhelmed because i want it to be the best for everyone and am always thinking about making it the best for everyone.
I plan everything out in advance in detail. I spend most nights planning the entire week so it's easier for me to tackle my daily tasks and responsibilities for the holidays. It makes me prioritize what I need to do first.
You body needs more sleep during the winter and especially if you have adhd. Get the sleep and consider a magnesium supplement before bed. Maybe also delete the socials.

Put your holiday activities on a calendar to see how much time you've set aside for specific events or tasks. Begin by writing down events that are scheduled at a specific time, such as a family gathering or a work party. Use the other available dates to schedule time for other high-priority tasks, such as Christmas tree decorating or gift shopping. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time in between to regulate your emotions and avoid becoming overstimulated.
Ditto. There's probably many reasons. For me, the deviation in my "normal" routine is a MF-er.
Hi! I usually lessen my caffeine intake so I won't have to stay up too late and have proper rest. Slowly transitioning from coffee to matcha.
