Solo designer in a consulting firm of around 50ppl . My +1 is a head of departement that is not linked to design. He’s gathering briefing, discussing money and planning then throw at me work to do « asap ». Results is often quickly pushed, and poor quality of work. On top of that my knowledges and skills are doubted? Is this usual in consulting firm ? How should I deal with that ?

The partner blamed me for something I literally had no idea about. The partner alleges that I filed response to a motion which was horrendous. I did not draft or file that response. I know nothing about the case. I was never assigned to that case or assignment. I feel like this partner just looks for someone to blame for their horrible work product when s**t hits the fan. I checked the docket report and it shows that partner filed. Toxic much.

I know we are busy, I know this is my job, but dang, it is a lot more pleasant to work for the midlevels and seniors who say please and thank you and show a tiny amount of respect and appreciation.

I actively avoid working for midlevels and seniors who just bark at me, never ask, and never say thank you because it just shows they don’t care about being a half decent human.

Are you being notified of + pts at work? In our ER we see PUIs who later test + but we are not being notified, even though we interact before Iso in place (eg walk-ins).

My organization absorbed another and the former deputy PM became a branch head - a demotion. For org was more focused on tech dev and not delivering a product on a sked. New org is very focused on that. He is not a driving leader, but is the only one with the tech knowledge needed. He is retirement eligible. He has no heir apparent - previous org didn’t plan that way. If I move him under someone who is a driver - he retires and I lose the knowledge. If I don’t, we may not meet schedules. Advice?
