I always work way harder than my coworkers, but now I'm feeling burned out. If I start working at their level, would my boss be upset that I'm slacking?

Only one way to find out!

If it feels risky to fully slam on the breaks you could let yourself slow down a bit. You don't want to completely burn yourself out and it sounds like you're headed in that direction. If you're working so much harder you deserve to be compensated for that so it could also be an opportunity to talk with your manager.

Ooooo that can be a tough one. I agree with M1, though. Slowly shaving off responsibility would probably be the best course of action. Could be a slow burn, but worth it down the line. You know you can always ramp up when it's needed most. Either that, or ask for something more from your manager, i.e. - higher pay/position

Don't try to stoop lower by comparing yourself to others. Put your best foot forward and the rest will fall in line!

Anybody else having one of those "What's it all for?" moments?

I know we are incredibly, incredibly well paid and to have that is a priviledge - so let's get that out of the way.

Am just curious if this has been on anyone else's mind recently or even in the past, to understand how others have/do think about this profession as I think about my own plans...

Hi - I’m a lawyer based in the UK, and looking to improve my IP law knowledge. Has anyone done the PGDip in IP Law at Oxford? Or can anyone give any suggestions on some good courses / resources? My background is in transactional, but improving my IP law knowledge would really help with my role.

Also posted in the Law bowl but thought I’d also ask the pros!

🚀BNY current attrition rate is lower than the industry average and the rate of BNY ‘returnees’ [employees who return after shifting jobs] has also been encouraging.

Is this true? If yes, Anyone knows reason behind it ?

How much cash do you keep in bank accounts? I have 50% in RE, 25% in market through retirement and education accounts and 25% in cash. Always think it’s too much cash but have never been able to gather courage to put more than 25% in market which I already have through 401K and 529. Any ideas on what to do with money just sitting in the bank earning no interest with 9% inflation eroding the value every single day

Hello,
I’m a junior data scientist and in my current job I mostly code using Pyspark (no machine learning) so I would like to work on a side project that could leverage my profile and data science/ML skills. What project would you advice me to work on ? (it can be a kaggle project, or a classic task that you do at your job, or a paper that you read).
I’m overwhelmed by the many suggestions online and would prefer to get a suggestion directly from professionals.
PS : I’m not a beginner.

What are your thoughts about having to take an iq/personality assessment tests? It seems so outdated to me. I don’t think it predicts how you will truly perform at a job. I took a test like this for a startup once and they were concerned about my ability to speak up or behave in social settings. This was completely false. I present, interview clients, demo products, and facilitate meetings for a living. So what if I go home and shut down after work? I’m exhausted from speaking all day!
