Interesting..if you started right out of undergrad at 21/22 (depending when ur bday is) then I guess you're right on track - 2 yrs at each level. Nothing crazy about that. You'll likely do 3 at M then 3-4 more at SM till ur up for PPD. You won't be the first, or the last, but def not the norm. As for being surrounded by idiots...you sure they don't look at you the same way? Maybe they view you as a cocky young M who is in above his/her head?
Time Will Come !
New York is 3 hours ahead of California but it does not mean that California is slow, or that New York is fast. Both are working based on their own "Time Zone."
Some one is still single. Someone got married and 'waited' 10 years before having a child. There is another who had a baby within a year of marriage.
Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before securing a good job; and there is another who graduated at 27 and secured employment immediately !
Someone became CEO at 25 and died at 50 while another became a CEO at 50 and lived to 90 years.
Everyone works based on their 'Time Zone',
People can have things worked out only according to their pace.
Work in your “time zone”.
Your Colleagues, friends, younger ones might "seem" to go ahead of you.
May be some might "seem" behind you.
Don't envy them or mock them, it's their 'Time Zone.'
You are in yours!
Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself. All things shall work together for your good.
You’re not late … You are not early ... you’re very much On time!😊👍stay blessed.
You Are In Your Time Zone....🌐
There are a couple SM in our strat practice that are still in their 20's they started out of undergrad
Worked with a manager that was 26. They were extremely arrogant and condescending to the team. Tried way to hard in front of the partners. Was horrible at leading and giving feedback. I think big 4 promotes too quickly to manager level.
You are superior sir!
What is your salary? Titles don't mean much at certain firms, in certain groups
I know a couple of 29 year old SMs. So, no. What I've also noticed is that people who think everyone else is an idiot have trouble finding people willing to work with them which starts to become a problem as you get to SM level.

Oop - E2 bringing you down to earth
Depending on where you work, you might be significantly behind. One of my colleagues was Manager at a different firm when she was 24! Good luck recovering OP
I drive a fiat
I became manager at D when I was 19 years old
I've noticed how so many PwC people think they are gods gift to the world. I've also noticed how managers and above don't respect associates views or opinions even people that came from industry. So please tell me again how you are surrounded by idiots?
I am 19 and on track for partner in 3 months.. feels like everyone on earth are stupid.. oh god the world feels so lonely....
@MC2, it's more that Manager titles are given out like candy at some firms.
I was actually born a manager.
My wife and I just had an ultrasound appointment... looks like it's a girl, and she's already leading an engagement!
TC1, thanks for articulating it so well! 🙋🏽♂️
Oh god Drake is here
OP needs to get laid
27 y.o. Manager 3 here so I don't think you are far ahead of others ...
Still waiting for OP to say something
