I am 33, f, slow metabolism. High stress levels. Eat clean. Need to lose 9 lbs. Any tips?

I just went through a break up and lost 8 lbs 🤷‍♀️. But honestly- when I’ve been trying to healthily lose weight, I focused on calories in/calories out. I wrote it down, ate about 1200 calories a day (hard!), and most of those calories were lean protein and vegetables. Not easy for me AT all, but more effective than anything I did exercise wise.

Calories in, calories out! You can lose 9 lbs easy by fasting and losing water weight if you’re just trying to lose for an event but you WILL gain it back. If you’re trying to lose in a sustainable way, it’ll take a couple/few months! Strive for imperfect consistency :) Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Why must you lose 9 lbs? And do you care if you ever gain it back (most people who lose weight gain it all back)?

If you don't care, then fasting, calorie counting, weight watchers or any number of restrictive approach will work.

Your relationship with food will suffer but the weight will come off.

If you want the weight to stay off forever and maintain a beautiful relationship with food - then don't do any of those things above.

Go on a long brisk walk (5 miles or so) every day! I do this every night around 6 after having an early dinner. It helps with stress, adds some activity, and keeps me from snacking at night.

OP, I have had pcos since I am 16yo and have had thyroid issues for the past 15 years .. fasting is one of the only few things that actually helps with my weight.

Intermittent fasting was effective in my 30s. Lost solid 10 lbs in 2-3 months. I need to get back on IF!! I turned 40 last year and gained 30lbs in 1 year! :(

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. 27M. I’ve been dealing with consistent muscle pulls and strains for the past five years from basic exercising like walking and body weight workouts that take months/years to recover when my doctor and internet say they should only take a few days/weeks to get better. I’ve gotten blood tests, diet is great, I’m 6’0 160lbs so no one is really sure what is causing this. Does anyone have any similar experiences?
