I’ve been offered a job that starts Feb 1, but my firm pays out bonuses on Jan 31. I’m planning on giving notice in early- to mid-Jan that my last day will be the end of the month. Can I expect to still receive my bonus?

Partners: what would you think if a first year associate tells you she is pregnant? And what advise would you give about telling my partners? It was totally unplanned so now I am scared that this may hurt my career and I would be seen as not being committed to the job. This will be my second kid but we had our first while I was in law school. Most of the partners I am working with have at least two kids but also they are men. No female associates with kids in my office.
