Looking for advice. I'm a tax manager that worked at both Big 4 and mid-tier in expat/mobility tax. I want to move away from tax compliance and more into technology. I currently use Excel and VBA for automating processes, and are taking beginner coding classes (Python, intro to programming). What career path do I have? I thought about quitting to do a bootcamp and work as a software developer, but is it too risky? Perhaps I can blend my tax experience and "coding" skills and do tax technology?

I started doing QA at the company I am currently at 3 years ago. Long story short, within 4 months at the company, I was able to make a career change and step into the position without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 year experience in QA. When I started I made $65k and it has jumped up to $78k. I have seen other PMs make way more at other companies $100k +. Annual review tomorrow, should I fight to get a big raise or look into other jobs that pay more if not?

(FL) So I currently work in ID, storm claims etc., and would appreciate any advice the great people here have.

I have been practicing for about 1 1/2 years. My current case load is approx. 80-90 cases with very little supervision and a shared assistant. This is essentially impossible to keep up with and the pay is horrible.

I want out, but feel as though I’m an undesirable hire due to the above and I went to a bad law school. Is a recruiter the way to go? How do I transition out of ID?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Hi all, typical corporate pleb looking for the path to startup.
I received an offer for a cool startup founded this year that just finished a Seed round. I received a very makeshift DocuSign which lists my salary and how I qualify for Stock options after 90 days.

"The exercise price per share and vesting schedule of the option will be determined by the Board of Directors when the option is granted"

Not much info on what equity I will be granted, any tips? Is this common?

I have not been able to dedicate the time required to bring this from a prototype to a money making app. I would love to find a Co Founder that is able to come in and help get this idea moving. Do you know someone that might be able to help or are their better sites to search for a Co Founder?

Question for 🐠 who have worked for multiple startups. My husband and I both moved to startups in our respective industries. My company is very employee focused. My husband is just burning into his role (sub 1 month) and has noticed a lot of people in his team are let go. Enough that it caused concern immediately. Today, someone at analyst level posted an update in slack. The CEO replied and insult this person, blamed the person for the companies retention issues, and then fired them.
