Study new tech side by side and aim for a switch . For fresher no one gives development, I was in production support for 1 year in one project and then moved to some enhancements and configurations project into another project then switched.
support has hell lot of onsites btw, you can save anywhere between 2-2.5 lakhs per month while on onsite.
So ask for onsite and stay on onsite for 15-20 years then retire

Only so much you can run away from it in your first job.
See what language you get to code in. Take few udemy courses and study the language and most popular framework in the market on the side.
Do well at work and In 6 months to a year ask for dev role. Best is to move internally to a dev project...
Worst case jump after 1.5 to 2 years to dev role.
Support isn't bad. You can earn big bucks in big companies as well and there will always be opportunities. So don't worry. And It is mostly fixed timings as well. So decent work life balance.
But being in dev you can earn more in the long run.
Thank you now i can sure go with it
There is always a future in every role. It depends on the person.
It's good for understanding the relevant technologies used in application.
You will know the end to end architecture .
From my view, It's fine to go for such role.
It will prepare for you to take new advancements in future.

You are a fresher you doesn't know anything.mits better to do support role at the srart
Thank you
I suggest to take this role for now. Understand how system and integration works. Mostly try to understand how business works. You can always learn something in every project.
But Its always better to start with any dev role.
I was trained for java application developer but I started with Application maintenance and never got chance to actually code. 2 years down the line when I switched I got the same kind of role and project since I didn't have any hands on project coding experience. Now I have corrected my course and working as DevOps Engineer.
