I’m a former teacher currently in L&D. I recommend getting the free trial of Articulate Storyline and learning that and exploring their online community site. Try building a portfolio even if they are “fake” examples. Other skills are adult learning, ADDIE development model, and project management. Feel free to DM me if you have questions. I’ve been doing L+D for 10 years.

This annual appraisal I have got a good % of appraisal increment on my salary but I was not promoted to a senior developer (although I have been mentoring a junior dev in my team and been part of building the project by implementing new technologies and tweaks) and my total YoE is 3.5+ years. What could be the reasons? What should I do now?

Switched to industry from audit about 2 months ago and it’s been worse than expected. Made sure to do my due diligence asking about flexibility, work life balance, etc. and everything has been worse than what I was told. Talked to one of my old recruiters and they said this job is already showing red flags this early and should consider getting out before I’m in too deep and can just leave this off my resume. Any experience/advice with this kind of situation?

After i cleared all the rounds. HR told me- initially we were hiring for 2 positions one is filled already & other one is in hold due to recession. After 2 weeks i got a call from them asking me if i am still interested they have re-opened and now i am again waiting for the offer letter they said it will take 2 days for approval from finance

This just concerns me -
Will there be quality work after i join?
Do they really need me? Will my position be valued?
Should one join such a company?

I was recently laid off. I am an Underwriter in the mortgage industry. There are thousands of us that are unemployed right now. I am hearing that other industries won’t entertain former mortgage underwriters. I am not certain why. Insurance companies have posted jobs with the statement “no mortgage underwriters”. I only have 2 year experience so I feel like I am at the bottom of the totem pole compared to my competitors. Looking to maybe change industries. Does anyone have any advice?

I have been really contemplating leaving my company for quite sometime now. Here’s why: 1) recently went and got my MBA completed summer 21 2) I’m nowhere near the salary range I should be in 3) the role I’m currently in is a job that should be two levels(pay grades) higher than what it is 4) my boss is a very nit picky person and we do not collaborate very well at all. What is stopping me from leaving is that I have established rapport within the company, access to senior leaders, and flights

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Looking for outlook on working at mosaic North America as a field coordinator. What was your experience in the role and where did it take you if anywhere?

Trying to orchestrate a career pivot out of accounting. For 5 tough years self employed. Stellar ed, GPA, and past accounting roles. MBA. So smart about so many other things, but my own career/future. And so many amazing jobs I've applied for - in a sellers market. Nada. And the thought of a potential upcoming recession means, what, I will be 60 when I will have my next shot (I am 44 at the moment.) How do I keep going? Wife just gave me a 3 month notice to get out. What am I doing wrong?
