Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake
Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy

Setting up expectations and a routine for choosing seats is a must. I have fully implemented flexible seating in my fourth grade class this year and I believe our success if due to setting expectations at the beginning of the year!
A colleague of mine has flexible seating in her 1st grade classroom. During open house a few parents had questions about if it was actually beneficial to their child and worried if their child would be successful with flexible seating. I would suggest having research handy if you do have a parent who questions you.
I’m finishing up my 2nd year of teaching and have only ever done flexible seating! I had an amazing mentor teacher during student teaching and she made it so seamless that I couldn’t imagine using anything else!
Definitely set clear expectations and review them frequently. I also do a lot of modeling of examples and non examples in the first few weeks of school and giving tons of positive reinforcement to those doing it correctly! One con is you can end up spending your own money on seating options, but I found a ton of stuff that other teachers didn’t want anymore and got things from garage sales! A coworker of mine also has a hand out of information about flexible seating at open house and asks parents if they have any donations to add the the seating options. She’s gotten great things from helpful parents!
