I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Because M1 didn’t sell 7.5M. He was given sales credit for 7.5M along with the 30 other people on interaction receiving sales credit. If he really was selling 7.5M on his own, he could take his books to another firm as a srmgr/PPED...but alas, he’s full of shit.
Congrats on your promo to M1!
Unlikely, though it sounds like a decent case for promotion. It’s probably better for you to retain the runway for your next promotion. If you were to skip a level you’d be compared to more experienced managers. Better to be a rockstar M1 than a middle of the road M2-3.
Oh wait I misread. Isn’t 500k really low? M2 here at 5M+
Op as as a sen 3 I sold over 7.5m and was managing 2m+ and only got a 4, skip promo ha
500k seems very low even for M1
Low? Most M1s don't even need to sell work
I was early promoted to M and had $0 sales and $0 managed revenue. That’s not what matters.
Only thing that matters now is utilization, so exceed your stayed target and you're golden
AC1 how is the ranking system works at AC? 6th year you become a manager at EY - homegrown
Does*
The number is based on years of service. If you’re an experienced hire, they level you based on experience/comp. So, no.
That's not how it works, they may like me but they are hiring EY they want EY's name on the reports and such,
500k is barely enough to staff one resource full-time for a year. What OP has is job security, not promotion.
When last year’s manager scorecard came out, even I couldn’t figure out how the number was so high. So Q for SM1, how do leaders cut through the BS #s and really identify who deserves credit.
@EY2 - it’s a real problem. Each large project sold has dozens and dozens of people on interaction even down to the staff level - I shit you not. Then, I present my senior counselees at round table and I can’t even count how many seniors are being presented with over $10M in sales. So first thing round table asks is “how much of that sales was senior X actually responsible for?” And if the answer is anything outside of this is their direct sale (which I have never heard for a senior), the sales number is taken with a grain of salt.
So the only problem are consultants like M1 who truly believe they sold 7.5M in sales when in reality, they’ve just been added on interaction with every other manager and senior on that project.
M1 why are you with EY, start your own business if you already have great relationship with some of these client. Why are you working for 140k a year, like why?
Managing 500? So you manage a staff for a year?
I'm now a sen mgr and probably kicking your ass sm1 in the sales department, want me to add you to some interactions
