You could look at US companies that are expanding and hiring from Canada. This is a jd that I came across today on my LI feed - https://www.epam.com/careers/job-listings/job.62541.remote_mulesoft-solutions-architect?utm_source=invite&utm_medium=web&utm_content=job_post_link&utm_term=rfr_WFhYWDhhYTg0N2NlLTQ0MGUtNDA3ZS05M2MzLTJmODFhYTRhOTgzZFhYWFg_srcid_2 Have you also considered being a contractor? May be able to help increase your income.

Thanks for your suggestion. Not preferring to become a contractor. Will watch for US companies.

My friend is an informatica lead at Bloomberg in NYC and is clearing $400k usd at 30. Try to get a job in the US. Much better pay.

400K USD is unbelievable. Thanks for letting me know. Will have to check on how to find employment in US after I become a Canadian citizen.

Go into Enterprise Sales. Way more upside.

What’s your YOE curious??

I think you could perhaps try banks in Toronto etc., btw I think you are making already good $$s by WITCH standards… so perhaps you should go for 40-50% hike…

Will they be still doing any background verification or this is done ?

I'm considering a job change from my well regarded commercial litigation firm to a more relaxed, WFH ID firm. My current billable requirement is 2000, but for partnership it seems to be 2200+. There's no work from home, and there's an old fashioned dress code. I like the complexity of the work I do, but I don't want to kill myself to make a living. Plus, my current salary is below market, so a move would come with a significant raise. Is it crazy to give up prestige for a better life?

Hi UK Fish, going into a promotion (from C to SC) and raise discussion tomorrow at a boutique consulting firm. Currently at 62.5k. Bonus was up to 10% but all I got was a measly 2%, slow pipeline maybe but I wasn't told why (will raise tomorrow). A recent acquisition has resulted in losing our annual xmas week off and a learning budget of 1k. I know for a fact that last year they were looking to hire SCs at 70k. Is a base raise to 75k a fair ask?

Is asking for a raise at a company I’ve been at for 6 months to soon? I believe the work I’ve been doing is worth more than what I’m making now

Any tips for asking for a mid year riase when a raise was already given in December/January? (7% for hitting above quota numbers) I started to realize the new external hires on my team make 10-15k higher than me for the same role. I am a top 3 performer but promotions and raises are usally only given based on hitting a certain number and at the EOY and often times that number is very hard to hit given the out of my control situations like acquisitions.

An opportunity has risen that I will be getting a promotion from Manager to Director. I am a senior employee and historically have gotten anywhere from 5.5% - 10% raises in the past. What would be an appropriate promotion to director percentage raise? I am happy where I work and don’t want to go anywhere, but also want to be respected in a role with more responsibilities.
