Never to late to pivot! Also be cautious to sell yourself short—I thought I would have to take a pay cut on my pivot from nonprofit to consulting but ended up making 3x more. Key is marketing your skill set as something relevant and desirable that no one else has
I’m a bval type that pivoted from wealth management via an MBA at 30 years old. Other alternatives would be taking some boot camps or trainings around modeling and corporate finance topics. Get Level 1 of the CFA program under your belt and you will start to tell a good story. Be open to down leveling or you may be setting yourself up for failure. I was a top 50 school, nothing crazy. Our group doesn’t focus on MBAs so I basically started a the bottom. It’s an expensive option and worked for me but maybe not for everyone. We have also hired MS Finance people.
