I am a Tech Consulting Senior at PwC but my primary skill set has been in consumer and retail advanced analytics 5 yrs exp and I have a masters in the same. How should I go about moving to MBB. I am working on data management technologies and its not my thing. Not willing to go the MBA route. Any suggestions on how I can make the leap.

What role are you looking to move into at MBB? General consulting role or more specialized?

like

@ mk1 General Consulting with under the consumer and retail vertical.

like

@p1 - possible to get in without mba but always lower risk of getting the interviews since so many people apply.
You could also consider pure analytics roles. We have a subsidiary called Gamma which focuses on some real awesome analytics work. There’s more likelihood of getting an interview there if you have a specialized knowledge which we need but is rare

@McKinsey & Company User 1: Dude, would you b willing to help more MBB job aspirants anonymously?

Hard/near impossible to find a sustainable path on the MBB side and advise on strategy issues without an MBA...unless willing to stay a specialist analytic solution

@s1 - You don’t NEED an MBA to succeed in mbb. If you’re smart, the mba is not required.
Hiring from ivy mba is more about having them do the pre-selection of smart people than the actual skills

Just passed CISSP... disappointingly easy. I took Sec+ a few months prior and thought that was significantly harder. Maybe that was just because it was my first introduction to some things. Thoughts?

I’ve been in my current position (Bookkeeper) for 4 years now. I’m highly interested in taking the PHR, and I’m wondering if I would qualify for the 4 year HR professional job requirement to be eligible to test for the certificate. I work for a small business, therefore I do all the on boarding paperwork/payroll. Any advice is appreciated.

I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I don’t want to go back to school for architecture. Ultimately, I want to own my own company developing real estate.

Anyone with perspective on an MBA from Cornell's new NYC campus (Cornell Tech)? Especially interested in the recruiting pipeline for consulting and big tech companies.

Looking for all lateral move at manager level. I’m looking for an established company with a good rep in digital transformation, but also looking for a good work life balance. Pretty sure this rules out MBB, Accenture and EY.
Any suggestions/feedback on firms?
Current shortlist is Deloitte, Capgemini, Baringa.

Hi fishes,

I've received offers from Harman International's Audio Lifestyle Division (15 LPA Fixed), DevOn (17 LPA Fixed), HCL's (14 Fixed + 1 V), Annalect (16 F + 1 V), UST Global(16 F + 1 V), and Rakuten (16 F).

Which choice offers the best WLB, job security, and future growth for me? I have worked in front-end development for 3.5 years in total.

I’m a fourth year cap markers US associate in London. Started my career here after law school and looking to lateral back to a firm in the US. Genuinely open to anywhere but have long term prospects of making partner, and conscious that majority of my practice here has been unregistered work. Should I just head back to NY (went to law school there and barred in NY) and gain more SEC registered experience should I be looking for more secondary markets since long term would not want to stay in NY

People on the app are posting great salaries 30+LPA, 40+ LPA
But not sure how many are for QA or SDET.
Can we really negotiate YOE*3.5 and above?

What skills do they look for?
DS or Algo is not on list for QA right?
What's the skill we need to learn to reach 40Lpa+ for 7-9YOE.

If you are one who cracked it, do share your path/exp.

Homeowners- how did you decide what neighborhood to buy in? I love the Arlington area (rosslyn thru ballston), but my husband would rather have more of the city experience. I’m open to seeing other neighbors but this is my wishlist:
- 1. clean, safe neighborhood - 2. Neighborhood with trees and decent shot at parking (and cheaper than Georgetown $14 parking). - 3. Cute & more upscale shops and restaurants. Do any DC neighborhoods fit this?

For current and former pre-MBA consultants, what proportion of your class do you think actually exited to roles that they could not have gotten without the consulting background? I definitely think that consulting—strategy consulting especially—opens doors, but I find myself becoming increasingly skeptical about whether the median consultant actually exits to something meaningfully better than they could have gotten otherwise. I suspect undergrads just aren’t too creative while job hunting

I am almost 23 and don’t know much about the investment and savings vehicles/strategies that I should be using. IRAs, Roth IRA’s, long-term investments, how much I should be contributing/saving for financial success, etc. Any suggestions? I currently have $4,000 in savings, and a few thousand sitting in checking that I use regularly but try to not spend too much. Rent is $1600. Likely looking to go to grad school in the next 2-3 years.
