I am a year out of college working for a consulting firm and am beginning to feel like my job isn’t worth it. Should I stick it out and get more time in my role or should I find a new job?

Sorry! Small consulting firm, less than 100 people. I’m in a sales role for my company and my team is extremely small. Sales wasn’t necessarily what I wanted to do following college but the opportunity presented itself and felt like I would be would be a learning experience that would teach me a lot and it hasn’t. Our commission isn’t much (I sold 100k worth of services last month and only received $600 in commission) and the base allows me to afford the basic luxuries for my area. This role isn’t ideal for a fresh college grad either, I haven’t learned anything other than learning the fundamentals of sales for a couple weeks. I’m also doing a lot of marketing, client relations and other projects outside of my role and sometime it inundating me from doing what I was hired for. I love my boss but do not get along with my CEO because he feels the need to micromanage everyone through out the office. I’m afraid if I leave my team I’m going to screw them but I’m not happy.

Just start applying for other positions low key and then put in your 2 weeks. Worry about yourself because they weren’t worried about you when they only gave you $600 commission. 🤷🏿‍♂️

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I’ve made it to the 3rd round interviewing at three different firms over the past month, and the feedback I’m getting has all been very similar: they think I’m really great, but it’s not the right time. Why spend 4-6 hours interviewing me just to say there isn’t actually a current role for me? Should I be reading between the lines (if so what does it mean?) or pressing harder for more detailed feedback?

Looking for some help here. Im a senior consultant and have to make a decision soon on aligning to a vertical / sub competency. How big of a decision is this in terms of exit opportunities? Both sub competencies im considering fall under business transformation but they are very different. My question is: will aligning to a certain sub competency limit my exit options to that area only - even if I leave at manager?

Pivoted careers and spiteful people in my new job keep telling me I’m underqualified and shouldn’t be here and that I was a bad hiring decision. Tips to stop this from feeding my imposter syndrome? I do think there’s a learning curve and I’m not fooling myself - I know nothing beats experience. But I’m willing to work hard and learn and not arrogant. Maybe the general practice wouldn’t be to hire someone with my lack of experience for this position, but I’m here and not going anywhere, so!

I start a new job, asked for two weeks initially and then also asked for a week off in between new/old job. I need help navigating the following situation: I have a niece’s birthday to attend on 8/13( Saturday) and I want to make it a week long trip.

My position is hybrid. Since I haven’t started or even spoken with my new team, I’m unaware of what days we work from the office vs. home. I did ask the recruiter and she defaulted to it’s on the team. I’m tempted to ask HR— but should I?

Really rethinking this whole accounting gig. I used to be so passionate about it and wanted become CFO one day, but I’m slowly starting to dread the work and my life. Everything around me has taken a toll. I’ve tried both big 4 and industry and I really don’t like either side, but I don’t know where to pivot to. Part of me wants to drop everything, travel and start my own business but idk if that’s the best thing to do amid recession fears… could really use some advice :/
