Do part time mba if you’re looking to check a box in current role. Do EMBA if you’re price insensitive and looking to make a career pivot.

They’re more expensive because they’re often sponsored, but sometimes financed by self if not covered by current firm. And not all firms sponsor 100%, sometimes it’s only partial reimbursement. Not to mention any potential claw backs if you don’t stay with current firm for X amount of time after you finish the degree. We should all do our part and spend the firm’s money as if it were our own.

If money is not an issue, what would you recommend?

In all honestly, you’re paying money for a piece of paper and a degree with a name on it. 95% of what you use will be learned from on the job training and the actual course material is close to being irrelevant. You’re buying a network and into the existing relationships of companies and firms that have relationships with schools and are looking to place graduates into jobs. If you’re looking to advance within your current role and simply need the degree to check off a box since you recognize you’re competing against others that have the box already checked off for a limited number of spots, then do the part time MBA. If you’re looking to make a switch to another career or firm, doing the EMBA will get you into a more powerful network and circle of friends and higher level opportunities since the price tag is steeper. EMBA is targeted at director level employees in their mid to late thirties with high trajectory, early forties max since 40 may be perceived as having already missed their window. Part time MBA is more accessible to the general public if you’re not trying to sell yourself too hard. So, are you looking to switch firms or career paths? If so, try to do EMBA. If not, go with the budget part time MBA.

Guys, need some help on salary negotiation tactics. I am new to consulting but have 10 years industrial experience and a MBA. Got an offer as M2 in Data Governance based in Dallas. Base offering is $165. I know most of you would say this is fair. However, I am currently in Canada and would have to do a hell of move. I want a bigger incentive to justify the move. Again any sincere advices are appreciated!

Hi all, has anyone in supply chain taken one of the certification exams? (CPSM, CPSD, CSCP) Does it help in any way besides refreshing contents about supply chain? I was thinking might be a good way to strengthen my resume (most of my career in investment analysis) but not really sure if it really brings that much value. Any insights appreciated. #supplychain #cpsm #cpsd #cscp #education #certifications

Are any companies honest and just say that “We’re here for the money and so are you. If we want to keep you, we’ll pay you just enough to keep you from leaving if that makes sense for us. Curious on the industries thoughts on people who over sell themselves in the interview process for a senior level position and when they get the job it becomes clear they don’t actually know how do the work. If you are a supervisor what are your thoughts in this instance? How long do you give the person to “figure it out”? Currently dealing with this within our dept and it’s causing more work/frustration than the new hire is actually helping.
