I am an operations executive and I am looking for leadership opportunities within an operational or implementation team. I recently applied for a role and was turned down because I do not have project management skills. Do y’all have any advice as I look for other opportunities?

I am betting that you have PM skills but you just need to convey those in your interview and on your resume depending on where you are applying. You can likely find some good info on Udemy about PM roles that would allow your to draw out your experience without having to do the PMP cert - unless you are interested in that.

yes- those rejections can be traumatic. I have had plenty but it sounds like you are willing to take steps to improve, if that is even needed, so that says alot about you! I think you have learned from this experience that sometimes you have what it takes but you have to get it across to the hiring team in a way that they understand. Also, I would not let that stop me from applying. You can look more closely at the JD and if it mentions any PM experience, you will know to highlight certain skills/expertise. You got this! Maybe all of this was a way to get you prepared for bigger and better things. Feel free to reach out with any PM questions.
