Insurance companies are now allowing embryo banking. This happened to me and also another friend who works at a different company where we decided to go through with another IVF cycle before attempting a transfer (because an optimal number of embryos was not achieved) and insurance approved them. I am in the process of IVF due to my husband's male factor infertility. I’m curious… at MBBs, what would you guess is the % of folks who leave (due to WLB, etc.) and get “asked to leave”? I imagine it’s different after the EM/PL level but curious to see what it’s like on the other side. (Difference with Big 4 is that you have a bunch of folks who just well… stick around at their level well past their due date.)

My company is adopting Scrum and hiring a bunch of agile coaches to assist with sprints. We got assigned our agile coach that'll be starting soon.

I read a description of what this role is supposed to be for and it sounds like they'll be leading Scrum ceremonies. So they run the planning meeting, the retrospective and daily stand ups. Up to now, I've been doing those and it's taken a total of like 2 hours a week of my time.

What on earth do agile coaches do with the other 95% of their time?

Just lateraled to a bigger law firm. The team I am on is much larger now and split between 4 offices. My prior firm was great at rationing the workload amongst associates. At my nee firm, it feels like a free for all. I want to make myself known as a hardworking associate but also don’t know how to say no to new work politely.
