I reckon if the partner had broached the subject in the past, his willingness to support would likely be a non-issue. If I were in your shoes, I would look to prevent a situation where you have to ask multiple times and consider sending chasers, particularly as the partner is doing you a favour.
Perhaps try to insert it into a piece of work you or regular update you need to forward to him that you are sure he would read. Try and make sure the work you slide your request into is not so complex or urgent that he would focus on that and forget about your request.
You might also drafting the document for him/her to fill in (template only, not content) so that it would be easy for him/her to get it done quickly.
I’d not go to law school. You probably still will do it but I bet you more than over 50% regret it.
Hmm paralegal school
And law school are different from each other. Having a background in one doesn’t necessarily prepare you for the other. As the law professors have often said, law school teaches you to think like a lawyer. It’s not the same.
Why do you need a rec from your boss? Just because they are a lawyer? Have you talked to law school admissions counselors and asked their opinion? Im willing to bet that they actually don’t care about your boss’ recommendation and will probably laugh at it. That’s the harsh truth. Admissions reps want to see letters from your professors, not your boss. This has been a subject I have thoroughly explored as a paralegal who thought I had some sort of leg up because of my background. We don’t.
