Third one didn't think you gave a great answer.
Actually I spoke to my buddy after that was at that firm for 6yrs and I told him what I said…he said I nailed it.
And the partner even said…great answer.

Sometimes you do really well but someone else just does a little bit better (or was able to connect better with the interviewers).
Well I had two senior partners (the third was just a normal partner) saying that they wanted to extend me an offer.
You were maybe the second choice and first choice accepted 🤷🏻♂️

If one says No, it becomes No.

What do you want people to tell you? Folks are chiming in with possible explanations and you are rebuffing them.

… adding onto this, you seem like you really really wanted this gig which is fine. However, one thing I’ve learned through countless interviews is approach each one as a mutual interview where the other side needs to sell you on why you should take the job.
Not saying this is the case, but there seems to be a touch of desperation in your responses.
I had the same thing happen to me when I was interviewing. I got really positive feedback during my interviews and the recruiter even said things were looking really positive and hinted an offer might come after the formal debrief.
The recruiter ended up contacting me the next day, apologizing and saying that even though the feedback was really strong, they went with someone else. I was really shocked based on everything I was hearing, especially since the people I would’ve reported to indicated strong support to hire me.
HOWEVER, I ended up getting an offer from another company where the role was a lot more aligned with what I wanted to do, and the comp was $30k higher than the comp I was discussing with the first company.
I guess all this is to say, it really sucks. But dust yourself off. Something better is out there.
Probably something to do with how much revenue they believe you will be able to bring in.
They said I didn’t have targets at SM. And I have 10yrs of revenue generation experience

Depending on the sub-team you might need to score 5/5 to get the offer. If you were only a 3 or 4 you might be out

2/3 is not 3/3.
C1: nope, I don‘t think we‘re quite at the T2 hiring standards anymore given scarce resources. A 4 or even sometimes 3.5 is sufficient. We‘re still quite selective at the initial screening though (especially out of MBA)
I feel like at that level the would tell you why. If associates get told why they were not selected, why wouldn’t directors or partners.
