Sitting in the window seat and there's a barking dog behind me and a baby beside me. I'm surrounded, help! #mondays
My mother-in-law is in US with green card and has been in India past 5 months. She is coming back next week but has medical needs that would require her to stay longer (overall more than 9+ months).
Tell us how long you've been a teacher without saying how long you've been a teacher. Ex: Overhead projectors were like gold 😂.
The father of my 4 month old daughter declined to sign the parental acknowledgement to establish his name on the birth certificate, doesn’t pay child support and straight up asked that we avoid the...
First time pregnant here. I have no clue what to expect after delivery. My husband and I decided to not ask help from our parents as they live in another country and don’t want them to catch covid while travelling. So, just want to understand what would be the recovery time after delivery? How long will it take approximately, before I can cook a meal again? Just want to get an idea before saying no to our parents.
Been seeing so many posts on generations- i mean millennials eat avocados coz thats all they can afford, GenXers have disappointed both pessimists and optimists, Baby boomers fucked it up for everyone
Trying to contact all of my clients re:markets, in the middle of tax season(I’m a CPA too), when I have a baby due in 2 weeks is....overwhelming.... to say the least 😫 please send prayers 🙏🏽
The youngest baby boomers are either 54 or 55. In about 5 years all of them will be out. Does feel like there would be a dramatic change in our culture at the big four/Consulting and fortune 500?
Hey moms, I’m 33weeks pregnant, just entering 34 and way too excited to meet my little one. I’ve nested the crap out of the past few weeks and feel like I’ve gotten everything I need, put everything away, set up the nursery, (includes watching all YouTube nesting videos there ever were) etc etc. I’m out of things to do and work is slow-hence bored out of my mind. Any tips or recommendations on how I can kill the last month or so?
Is it normal for you to feel the baby kick you in the butt? I have an anterior placenta and don’t feel the kicks as much in the front/belly. It’s more literally in the back!
Is anyone’s husband a stay at home dad? How do you split responsibilities. I’m feeling extremely worn out between work and taking care of the baby before and after work 🙇🏼♂️
My District decided to initiate a “no zero policy” starting now. I was informed by administration that when a student does not turn in their work, I still have to give the student a fifty percent even though that student didn’t earn it. I teach sixth graders and I am not sure how I feel about this. Any words of advice?
Deloitte Moms, I just found out I’m pregnant with my first! Super excited! I have a question about the firm maternity leave policy. Per my knowledge, our maternity leave is 4 months. However, I’ve seen coworkers who went on leave for up to 6 months. How do they manage to do that? Also, based on your experience, when’s the optimal time to tell employer/ coworkers about your pregnancy?
Do any firms out there offer a Global Parental Leave policy? Curious to see how prevalent it is and if it is actually valued by employees
How do you deal with the guilt from income inequality? Me making $150k vs a Partner making $1M is a steep difference, but what feels more painful is me vs someone making $30k and supporting a family. I almost cried today listening to the janitor in my building talk to me about how he’s trying to send his kid to school 😭
Me and my husband are unsure whether we want kids or not. What are some good resources to read up on to understand what we would be signing up for by having a child or missing out on by not having one? Also ladies who have/do not have kids. What were your reasons for deciding against/for having kids. I am extremely confused and do not want to run out the clock and realise later that we should have had kids. We like kids (we always point out kids to each other in public) but unsure about our own.
My firm has become very short staffed in recent months with work increasing. A partner called to tell me they are depending on me this year, but I also have a few 2nd round interviews lined up this week. Should I feel guilty for leaving the firm during this time?
Hello Everyone, Hope you are doing well. I need a small help and advice from advice from all of you. Recently I received an offer from MNC but a some what wierd clause is included if I get rejected in the client interview company will decide my further deployment and engagement. Quote : "For the employees who are not so selected by Client for the offers; we will discuss further deployments and engagements with the Company at that point of time." Please help me understand it.
Working in Chinese company, with office based in China but working remotely outside of China. Fine and legal to work there without a work visa if im not living in China right?
I promise I will say these words in every pitch from now on, right when we get to the budget slide, always making direct and unflinching eye contact with the client.
Thinking of buying a condo - any specific tips / things I should know as a H1B holder? Taxes, strange regulations, etc. TIA! First time buying property
I’m thinking about transfer to Financial Management/FS from BTS. As a S2, I’m hoping still a senior after transfer. Any thoughts? Does which office matter since the job requires 80%+ travel? Thanks!
Can anyone articulate the need to constantly travel to the client site? Could more work be done remotely or is the weekly travel really necessary?
Online Masters recommendation? I’ve got a GI Bill burning a hole in my pocket. Finished my MBA last year and still have more than half my GI Bill left. I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to go to..
Kind of panicking with the insane valuations in the stock market and considering liquidating brokerage account (not 401k) to invest in real estate (e.g. buying a house or condo). In midwest. Could live there or rent it out. Good idea? Bad idea? House vs condo?
Hello 🐠! Need advice: my mother’s bank says her taxes cleared. The check for the amount she owes was processed. We just received a note that the taxes were not paid. She used an accountant because it was her first time filing (my dad would do the taxes). Anyone been in this situation before?
My GC is about to retire... She has been at the company (investment firm) for three years. I recently joined the team as corporate counsel. I only have two years of prior firm experience in a non related area. What should I do? I’ve been brought up to speed on all ongoing matters, but feeling like I won’t be able to handle being the sole legal counsel. Should I push for someone to be hired at GC and I stay at my level, or shoot for the GC role? Would I even be qualified?
Do recruiters secretly make fun of you/don’t believe your current salary when you ask for “too much”. Most my interviews (even pre-covid) involved the recruiter telling me that is not within their budget. Just for reference I have 2 YOE in Product Management asking for $115k
H1B 2018 candidates - worried about the new law that is going to signed? Any input? What if you make less than 100K, how will the leadership handle the scenario?
I'm betting some creative at John St right now is trying to find a way to claim credit for corona virus as a stunt for no frills or cashmere toilet paper for their 2020 AOY video.
