I am currently a technical program manager, don't see significant career growth in pure program management. Can anyone who have moved from program management to managing a product or a team (with P&L) provide some insights on how you made the switch . Thanks

Pick an industry you like and become an expert at it. Industry expertise + ability to manage complex program opens a lot of doors.

Best way is hard way. Credibility comes from deep knowledge of the industry. Requires hitting the books (not reading marketing blogs), spending a lot time in the weeds delivering work (not managing), acquiring industry certifications/designations, publishing unique point of views. Straight forward yet require patience and years of investment. and that makes this very difficult.

How much money does one need per month to live a good life at Zürich? Let’s assume single, renting, eating out 2 meals everyday out of pocket (delivery because I won’t cook), and going for weekend trips once per month. Location of home depends, eg 30 mins away from Zurich by train. Thanks!

At what point do you begin to feel numb (if ever) when you’re done trial and prepping for another trial in a span of 3 months, while mains full caseload of other active litigation cases? Should I be worried that I’m going from engaged and stress to numb and slightly indifferent? Or is this what it feels like to power through? I can’t gauge it anymore? And can’t impose judgment one way or another either.

Is it me or does the newer generation value more intangible things that aren’t easily measured like work-life balance, fulfillment and purpose in work. Which makes it difficult for firms because that’s not something that is easily measured. Also, this is why there is “value” in crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. It’s a clash of the generations that value tangible things like money, houses, cars and one that values time, experiences, personal online image. Thoughts?

Anyone else having WFH fatigue? I had been traveling weekly for business the last 20+ years, but the last 3 months at home has been personally challenging. Seems like this WFH is the new working model for the future. Anyone else feel this way?
