I am currently in litigation firm. I’m tired of firm life. I am looking into moving in house. I am seeing a few insurance companies looking for litigation counsels. How is a litigation counsel role different from claims adjuster who manages outside counsels?

My last agency hired back a ton of the people who were laid off (thankfully I landed a new gig, would not go back to that place). They decided to bring back 10/19 that were laid off. To those who are thinking of resigning without an offer, I seriously advise you not to do so. I resigned in July due to a hectic (you can call it toxic) work culture and was confident enough to get another offer. But nothing materialized, no calls, savings money almost depleted with the EMIs, hard lesson learned!

Please try to resign only if you have an offer in hand or you're financially sound enough to survive without a job for at least a year! Cheers!

I am being advised by my colleagues and friends in consulting that I need to see a therapist. It isn’t for any mental health reason per se, but for professional social capital. Apparently, I need to be relatable to the professional class and talk about my therapy experiences. Is this really a thing? Is not having a therapist like showing up green with an Android?

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. It’s not changing in the last several years and it’s impacting our relationship. Anyone have experience with their SO dealing with untreated anxiety? Has anyone waived in to MN before as in house counsel? One of the requirements is actively practicing law for 36 of the last 60 months. I was in compliance for a number of years and am wondering if that will be a snag. I did perform legal functions but it mentions demonstrate evidence of and so I was just curious about any experience others may have had.

How do I leave in house? Serious question. I am young in my career and landed my first gig in house after being out of school for a year. The legal department is new but the company is 35 years old. The first year after I graduated I took on a compliance position. Now I am stuck being a jack of all trades and I only have 8 months of solid legal experience. Anyone found a way to overcome this and leave? I have had a terrible experience but I have learned a lot.

I started my first in-house role about 4 months ago and I don’t think it’s the right fit. I love the no billable hours aspect, but otherwise I miss the structure of being at a firm. I’m looking for advice (I understand that it might be suck it up). I’m a young in-house attorney. I’m getting great experience but I don’t get guidance, training, advice, etc from my boss and she’s a perfectionist. So the feedback I do get is, mistakes can’t happen. We are extremely understaffed and her solution is an intern for me to oversee. Does anyone have any thoughts on how handle this situation?
