Have you successfully negotiated a raise in PA?
I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

Saying you're going to competitor
Check if you live in an at-will state, if so, you can leave whenever you want
You can break the contract. You can’t be compelled to work in modern times. There may be a financial penalty called “liquidated damages” which is a fancy BS legal term for a penalty that you agree to, since penalties are illegal in most states.
I find it strange they would try to enforce unless you are really screwing the firm by leaving right now suddenly. They can’t force you to do GOOD work and you would leave to industry with a bad taste in your mouth.
Is it going to interfere with your next job if you stay on for the extra two weeks? If not you may want humor them - I’d assume there is a reason they wanted you to stay on for the full 4 weeks (e.g. to wrap up a project or something)
Coach
You can negotiated it. I just left KPMG. As a senior manager I was required to give a 6 weeks noticed. I was able to negotiate it to 3. Just work with the P and set a transition plan.
Do you usually sign another contract upon manager promotion?
Yes it says 4 weeks notice
Put some FTO on your schedule
Are you going to a client? If so, make sure to point it out, might help smooth the transition. Going to a competitor? They should have walked you out the door. If HR pushes back, spend two weeks getting things together. I’d book a vacation (or staycation) for the last two and slow walk everything back. Don’t kill yourself those last two weeks. Also, make sure to track your PTO for your payout, get any licensing documents you need, and say your goodbyes. Good luck.
Wish I had the luxury of worrying about a PTO payout
