Crossroads Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. I have been with the organization almost 6 years and have accomplished achievement of my MSL (Masters Strategic Leadership) and LOVE the organization…BUT…I am not having any success in moving into a new position…my interviews are great experiences but it seems to be a pattern of not being selected yet encouraged to continue applying…received information from a mentor/manager to ask for candid feedback…when is enough…ENOUGH??

It will be difficult to pivot into tech without some kind of experience. First, PMP certs are useless nowadays because most dev teams follow an agile methodology. Better to get a Scrum Master or RTE certification instead. But it doesn’t stop there. You must also have some software development experience. You’ll need to know how to size requirements and manage capacity. PMP certification doesn’t teach you that because PMP is a very Waterfall method.
Build a portfolio of projects. Or try to move laterally to an entry level tech role within your org to build skills and fill the knowledge gap.
The latest version of the PMP is Agile focused. If you already have the PMP, look at the ITIL certifications.
