Hi All— Happy Juneteenth! I got approached about a VP Corp Comms role in NY. This would mean leaving consulting. What do you think is a good asking price in terms of salary?

Did I screw myself by being the first person to bring up salary figures with a startup? I tried to hold firm and make sure they said ballpark range first before I said if those align with my expectations, but she gave a vague “it depends on market, but I can give you a broad range from $45k-$90k for the role.” So I responded with $70k-$80k. Should I have asked for the highest range then of $80k-$90k? Worst case scenario, I don’t want it being revoked.
Is 215-225k possible for an L5 role at Amazon Seattle? They are offering a lateral move from FB but only want to jump if +20% in comp raise is possible. Additionally, anyone familiar with successful negotiations at Amazon? Recruiter likes to play hardball but the hiring manager let me know she’s pushing extremely hard to get me hired.
Any CA-licensed corporate associates interested in San Diego biglaw? My firm is hiring there for general corporate, capital markets, real estate, investment mgmt, and venture/growth finance. NYC salary and hybrid office/remote. ☀️ DM me.
Hello Fishes. I have received positive feedback from KPMG interviews for consultant position and have submitted documents. It has been 4 days since I haven't received any call for negotiation or offer letter. How long does it take to get that?

Why as an A2 in big 4 audit I feel I don’t know anything still. Is this normal? How do you go on to get promoted to senior if you still don’t know anything?
I received an offer from Bain for the Manager role. Does it make sense to make a transition for the brand value? My goal is to exit consulting in 1-1.5 yrs. Currently, I am an AS1.5 at OW, expecting to progress either to AS3 or Engagement Manager (somewhat unclear at this point) at the EoY. My content focus has been in FS (where Bain is less strong in my country) and Private Equity areas.
Looking at a job posting and it requires 1550 billable hours for a litigation paralegal position. Can anyone give me a rough estimate as to how many work hours that will likely translate to per week? (My current job does not use billable hours)
I’m trying to hop between big 4 consulting roles. Presently, I’m a life science PhD and MBA hire to EY with 3+ YOE as a Senior consultant/associate. Do I have any shot at manager roles assuming I focus on life science roles? I’m concerned my lack of manager title kills any chance I have of joining another firm as a manager.
Was talking to a few friends who are B4 consultants and were mentioning there 100-200 person projects. I’m at a boutique and my average project size is 3-8. What’s been your experiences?
What do u tell strangers that u do for a living when u don't want to explain what a big 4 auditor is
Hi guys, presently a manager at acn. Have a senior security assurance consultant offer at Amazon and potentially a security program manager offer from a tech company outside of faang. Expecting second offer to be slightly better numbers. Which would you go with especially from a career growth/exit opps perspective
Those who do consulting for big 4. What’s your entry level pay for undergraduates in T1 cities?
I have worked at one large(top 10) and now at a smaller(200 employee) firm. I’ve gotten quick promotions at each in Outsourced Accounting to a management level. I’m working on CPA should be done in March. I’m wondering if I could get a job in B4 or if I don’t have the right kind of experience. Any insight?
Keen to get perspectives from people who have switched between firms (i.e. McK, BCG, Bain, ATK, OW, LEK, RB, etc; sorry, not Big 4). When did you do it? Why did you do it? What were the pros and cons?
Hey fishes, There is a opening for people who are Salesforce certified administrator. Dm me for referral or directly send your resume at firstname.lastname@example.org
Need advice on what is appropriate to bring up to my manager. My project is wrapping up soon. The last month or so I have felt incredibly burnt out and depressed. I’m not sure if it’s been (contd)
GT NY Folks- Tax A1 here, any insight on round tables for first year’s? People have said they generally never fire A1’s, is that true? Utilization is low so a little concerned.
Okay so really asking for a friend - I don't do drugs. But we're being rolled onto a gov't project and they require drug test- he may or may not do pot. What should he do?
What’s with people going from Big 4 or other accounting firms to recruiters? Several of the last recruiters I connected with came from accounting firms. 🧐
First year lateral to K&E remote position. Entertaining taking this. Should I expect a signing bonus and/or to be made whole re: year end bonus and covid bonus?
Does Deloitte pay for/reimburse CPA License renewal? If so what is the process to get reimbursed? TIA 🐠 Deloitte
I am on OPT, with 2 years left. I work for Company A right now, and I am happy with them. Company B applied for my H1b this year and I was selected. They are processing the H1b, but I don’t wanna work there. Can I take the approved H1b to Company A and continue there, without ever working for Company B? Can I work for Company B once the H1b is approved and not got to Company A at all?
I have an interview with GEP Consulting tomorrow. Anyone worked/works there or has interviewed there? Looking for some pointers.
Do all big 4 and larger mid size firms have PIP? How long do they usually last, and does anyone get fired for purely performance reasons without being put on a formal PIP?
I’m trying to move to Ireland (from the US). I work in Accounting Advisory Services and would want to do something similar there. Trying to figure out whether it’s easiest to try and do this by going through global mobility within KPMG or just applying for a position at a different firm in Dublin. Anyone have input on which firm is best in Ireland for comp and wlb, ease of using global mobility vs applying for a new job, etc?
Just sharing a story. Thanks to months of therapy I have finally become brave enough to quit in May, when my current project is over.
Does anyone at McKinsey have product management or Data Analytics opportunities? Manager at Big 4 and want to also understand what level I should aim at?McKinsey & Company
Would love some advice—I’ve spent the last 2 yrs in sr level role doing policy work I enjoy. early on I discovered I was srsly underpaid & had to fight to fix it. Then leadership changed & things were good, until recently they dangled a promotion only to tell me it wouldn’t come with a raise for at least 6 mons. Then a diff agency asked me to apply for a role that pays a lot more but the work sounds so boring. Do I follow the money or do I keep doing work I like while feeling undervalued?
Being heavily recruited by Golin at the moment but I’m hearing mixed reviews on the culture. Any current employees with opinions to share? Wanna hear more before taking the bait.

I can honestly say that working from home these last few years has been the best thing that’s happened to my career as a producer. I never realized how distracting being in an office was. Now, I actually can focus on bidding, scheduling, reviewing contracts, and all of the stressful parts of production WITHOUT having to factor in code switching and a commute. I left my agency producer role for a fully remote producing role and I’m just….thrilled. Anyone else refuse to go back to office? 😩
Hello everyone, Working as a WMS Solution Architect with overall 16 YOE in Softeon WMS/OMS product and handling both B2B and B2C retail clients. Does anyone know if MBB (Toronto) is hiring a lot these days? Currently working at big 4 (manager) with no case interview experience/ no mba … thinking it would at least take me 2-3 months to prep and network. Would trying to get in by Jan be too late? Also, my spouse is thinking of potentially moving to the states next year. Do you know if US MBB helps new hire with their H1B visa? (Understand it may be difficult but want to check if it’s worth trying)
