Startup is a different ball game. If u r up for it, take it but it comes with a risk of stability (obviously, comparatively ๐๐).
50% is worth the risk!
Take the jump mate!
Even if you get promoted next year, m sure there will be no hike. So make decision accordingly
I spent 14-15 months in a startup (well funded) and believe me Consulting is nowhere in terms of pressure, effort and stress.
I was also at a similar situation 3 months ago. I took risk, and moved on successfully..
If you love development work, move to the startup. As M, you would move further from development work and will end up managing client and internal stakeholders.
When you say same profile do you mean senior consultant? Or manager? If it's manager and 50% go for it. But be ready to face challenges of startup environment.
I am joining at a senior dev role and I have worked at startups before so I am not much worried about the work culture as I do know some people who are working there. But worried if leaving a future promotion in 9 months is worth it.
If the startup is stable, take the offer. Not that your life is going to change significantly after the promotion! Besides while we have been speaking about downside, if the startup does well there is significant upside for you. Here you are just a number
Get out while you can.
