I am earning 16.3 LPA my yoe is 10+ with java,springboot.i am asking 32 LPA bacause I am seeing other salaries here.Please suggest how to ask this salary? I kept my resume but still no offer yet.

Switch job.Better you should ask for 40% hike for the first offer.. and then for the next interview you can may be ask on top of 1st offer. That's how atleast people get a higher salary. Direct raise is not possible until it's a company where they follow salary standards. And you may even get more than 32 . :) 😀

While dealing with HR in the first call, ask for 30%-50% hike. After selection in technical rounds, you will mostly get a negotiation round. For me, that was the experience. I asked for 80% hike in a MNC, they offered 45% hike, I didn't accept the offer. But using that offer, got 75% hike in a startup company. Using the startup offer, the first MNC is now ready for 75% hike!

Note: my cctc is pretty low as per market standard. Obviously! I have been in Tcs!

@capgemini 1 what you did is absolutely correct don't feel bad about it and stop doing what you are doing. What you said filters people you don't want to waste time interacting with. Don't associate ego to it. If someone ask if you are being logical tell them yes you are being logical and ask them in the same tone "are you being ethical?" You don't need to mention this but since it sort of rubbed on you I am just saying. Because asking for your current ctc is not ethical thing. Also don't quote expected ctc say market standards.

You need to scale your offer in a step wise manner, first ask for 50% hike then get an offer Letter, after getting first offer Letter you have to take advantage of notice period as it is the crucial period you can scale upto 45- 50 lakhs by attending multiple companies. Directly asking 100% hike is not a good idea

Go step by step. Asking 50% more is good as of now then building up from there in further offers is a good option. Even companies know you won't be sitting for just 1 company until and unless it's your dream company.

It's very difficult, if you ask 100% in 1st round, the company will say tata bye bye...it's reality.....
But still it is possible when you will do one by one counter offer during your notice period...you should have 3-4 offers... Ask slowly..like 1st company ask 40%, then in second company say match the existing offer and give 10% additional....so on...

I think you have been serving your company for far too long. Time to jump buddy. Search and search hard. And keep a big ask for your expected CTC. Companies are willing to pay if they find a good fit. Keep a minimum of 35 LPA as expected. Always quote higher. For your experience that's the CTC you deserve and it's a non-negotiable requirement. At first, HR will make it seem like you are quoting too high, but don't flinch, you know your worth. If they need you, they will consider. Just my opinion, don't settle in a company for far too long. After some time passes, again put yourself in the job market. Only then you can increase your pay. All The best.

Ask for less in first offer. Once you resign, notice period will start reduce. Then you can get counter offers and finally reach your expected package at the end of 3 months notice period. Getting 32 in first offer itself is difficult

You needn't add new technologies. You just need to be really good at what you do and find a way to showcase that. The suggestions on here are generic, you know what your profile needs best. As far as asking a certain amount goes, you should ask away. The max they can say is no.

The offer was presented to me by the hiring manager and not HR/Recruiter.
