I am enjoying work from home so much. Made me realize the routine / predictability of audit adds to my WLB since I know what to expect (although we get occasional surprises).
Also I don’t have to be in uncomfortable audit room in uncomfortable suits all day... so now I’m wondering: is it possible that this remote audit becomes a permanent thing? / industry standard?

I think we’ll probably see greater flexibility with working arrangements after all this, I know KPMG was starting to move in that direction before COVID anyway. I think odds are low that you’ll be allowed to work 100% remotely, at least in the near future.

You wear suits to the audit room?

Hospitals are pretty old school like that.

I had one hospital client that finally did away with that after the controller would just cut the tie off of anyone who wore one (hospital employees, not the audit team). He was awesome.

I really like no 2 hour commute, no worrying about makeup and dress, no unnecessary social, no early get up anymore. Although I do feel client is slower but I like wfh for audit. Once it’s finished I’ll prob just go to industry

One thing I like about my firm is that, if your intern sucks? You can just say they suck and they’ll get pulled off your job so you can focus on being efficient. I put considerable effort into 1: he’s never available, never finishes anything, never takes notes, doesn’t follow through on communication ever, zero initiative, and refuses to talk to anyone except 1 staff associate even when specifically directed otherwise. I can’t push pull or drag him if I tried (and I did). I don’t feel bad.

10 years of experience in PA (staff->senior->supervisor->manager)
PA firm is around 100 people

I also got assigned to busy files and for 70% of my file I worked till 10/11. Since WFH starts I completely lost the boundary of work/life and got depressed.
