I have 6 yrs of HR exp, a PHR cert & an HRIP cert. I recently left my role as an HR Rep at a tech co b/c I was working 60+/week and the stress of the job was affecting my health. I recently received an offer at a new tech co that is $10k less than what I was previously making with comments from current EEs that this new co has a better WLB. Total comp is still a lot less than my prev company. Is less comp too much of a compromise for better WLB? What have you compromised for a better WLB?
How impactful it’s to be SHRM certified?
This is great! Love to see more companies doing this. The clients I've worked with have added Calm/Headspace subscriptions, allocate X amount of dollars for Yoga/Health classes each month, cover a portion for a subscription to Betterhelp or other mental health services.
My company offers an annual well-being subsidy that is *only* for the employee and does not extend to family members. It is also a flat dollar amount and includes things like headphones, workout gear (including gaming consoles for use with exercise games lol), health/wellness subscription programs and other
My company offers something like this and it seems to be well-liked by the employees. It doesn't extend to anyone beyond the employee, though. I'll bet that would be cool, but I don't think the current budget would really accommodate additional people. Trying to spread the same $$ from one to two or more people without increasing the dollar amount would end up devaluing the actual benefit, making it less attractive.
Ours only includes the employee, and it cpaps at a certain amount. We let them decide but it has to be a reasonable category of wellness (e.g., spa treatments, exercise equipment) but we've allowed other things like books and headphones, subscriptions. It's a case by case basis but we are quite lax
I agree! This is such a great initiative from you and the company's part. Also a great way to show appreciation for your employees.
