If you find a solution other than jumping ship to another employer I am all ears. I have a massive spreadsheet with tabs by partner in charge (more than 10 tabs) with 7-8 major client groups averaging 15-35 businesses in each major client group. All in, I probably manage over 250 business returns not including the trusts and individuals that go with them. I gave all of the partners access to the spreadsheet so they can see where I am at on deadlines and I try to keep them updated, especially when copying them on emails to the clients. The problem is that they all want their work done first. I am terrified of 9/15 this year! On top of that, we are super short staffed. I physically can't get all of the work done even if I was solely reviewing and not prepping (at this point I am solely review but have had to step in to help out some of the staff due to overwork). Where is my help!? I communicated this 2 months before the start of tax season and that was no help. I have gotten to the point where I am one person and will do the best I possibly can, do my best to service my clients, but I am not killing myself over this... I am sure some deadlines are not going to be made.

Make sure you communicate about your list of to-do’s.
Any engagement will take all of your time if they think you have capacity.
Was in this situation earlier this year and had to be direct about my priorities for each team and my capacity to take on more.

To who though? im on one big engangment but has multiple workstreams

Ask someone to help you prioritize, possibly your coach. Your coach may also be able to identify where you may truly be overcapacity and help you, get help, offload or negotiate priorities and due dates across your teams.

My coach doesn't help unfortunately. I brought it up to them first. They just said we'll get done what we can...

Plz

send help!

Send it my way. I can help. On downtime atm.

This is me right now. Might get some bad reviews because of how overworked I am, but I don’t care. I’m gone as soon as I get a good job offer in industry.
