I am feeling a little guilty. Here it is 5 days into vacation and I have not even opened the computer to grade / prepare school work. And here I told the 8th graders to use their week off to catch up on all the missing work! Sheeeesh!! Double sheeeesh!!!

I had resigned from a job a few weeks ago. I’m entitled to 2 weeks (10 days) of vacation pay. I used 1.5 since January 1st. Will I be paid out the vacation pay that I earned from Jan-June, or the full 8.5 days that I would’ve had left?

What's a polite way to ask another teacher to stop sharing their home life problems with you? My coworker has been unhappy in her marriage for a long time (she talks about it a lot). It's always been a little awkward, but now her son is in my class which means I see her husband a lot more often at drop off/pick up, and I have to talk to him. It's hard to look him in the eye knowing the stuff his wife has said about him to me, how can I get her to stop without making her feel bad?

I love what I do. But I just want Administration to have our backs. Last semester I had 4-5 unruly students I begged and pleaded for them to get them out of my class. They did nothing for the whole semester. I told the school board I refuse to teach at that school with that administration there. I don't trust them and I have no faith in them Administration is supposed to have our backs.
