That’s a huge quota. Is this a brand new role?

Nobody at the company has ever had a quota so high. Quota’s have been increasing 2x and 3x because of how fast were growing. And I agree with making it backwards, I need to realize how many deals I need to get there, how many total ops.

Interesting....yes, public sector has huge deals, that can take a minimum of 18 months - 6 years, hell, maybe even longer. So considering most quotas are a a revolving 12 months, a what year do you become the top producer and crush it? Year 2, at a minimum, or years 3-4-5-6-7-8-9....? I would be asking all the reps on that team: 1. Average deal cycle length 2. Average deal size 3. Average deal volume in a year 4. Are all deals typically funded up front, or are these projects that need to be approved by board/jurisdiction/state gov/federal gov. 5. How long did it take reps to close their first big pub sector deal? Once I knew the answers to 1-5, I'd weigh out the money for such a large quota for a position you're new to.

1. Between 3-9 months depending on how rushed they are, covid projects move fast, compelling events. 2. Average deal size between all reps last year was 1.1M. 3. I closed 5 deals last year, one being for 6.2M. Moving into a territory that will have a lot more opportunities. 4. Pretty much every deal is tied to an extensive decision process, Board approvals, CxO approvals, the deal I had for 6.2 M had to be signed by Dept of Treasury, Dept of Human Services, and the Attorney General of NJ himself. That took so long that we had to set up a placeholder contract between the prime vendor because they got the PO and already started getting paid before the actual contract was executed by the AG…long story. 5. Good question, it took me almost a year to close first 6 figure deal, I was working in pure greenfield so got to take some luck when you can get it.
