I have an offer of 25% hike upfront and some hike 6 months when probation period is over (this is agreed verbally but gut feeling says they will give it). My current company agrees to match the 25% hike only but with one year commitment or refund of increment. Work culture is good in current company. Any suggestions?

What is the difference in work culture like in the UK vs US?

I am currently UK, and know salaries & hours are both greater (salaries significantly more!) in the US.

Anyone else think that court deadlines are the reason for a lot of stress? A 14 day deadline means basically 7 days to get something drafted and to a client. Wonder if courts should consider this and the stress effect it has on litigants and their counsel.
